£10,000 target set for Smile! Bacta’s National Fundraising initiative

“A week of giving – a world of difference’ is the theme driving Smile! the Bacta fundraising programme which will be launched at Park Avenue where members of the industry are being invited to meet with the teams from Little Lifts and Rays of Sunshine.

Smile! the week-long national fundraising initiative which is being launched at the Park Avenue Open Day will attempt to raise £10,000 to be shared between the Bacta Charitable Trust (BCT) supported organisations Little Lifts and Rays of Sunshine.

Rays of Sunshine which is well known to the industry brightens the lives of seriously ill young people and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospitals and within the community.

Little Lifts which made its industry debut at January’s EAG Expo provides free, thoughtfully curated Little Lifts gift Boxes to every breast cancer patient in the UK receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment or undergoing surgery.

The brainchild of former Bacta President Nick Harding who serves as a BCT Trustee, Smile! aims to bring together members of the industry, their suppliers and customers in a week-long festival of fundraising. “Our campaign theme is ‘A week of giving – a world of difference’ and I hope that as many members of the industry will get behind what we are trying to achieve” stated Harding.

“The teams from Little Lifts and Rays of Sunshine will be at Park Avenue to meet with the industry and explain more about their work, the challenges they face and the importance of the relationship they enjoy with the Bacta Charitable Trust.

“Smile! will also provide an opportunity for the industry to involve consumers, engage with regional media and connect with MPs and other elected representatives. Putting the industry front and centre stage will reflect the huge amount of positive work undertaken by businesses in their communities.”
