Canadian social gaming company Activate has officially opened its fifth venue in London, just 16 months after entering the UK market in partnership with We Do Play at The O2.

The new venue is located on Upper Street in Islington, and features a range of games and activities including Strike, Portals, Control, Press, Hide, Laser, Grid, Mega Grid, and Hoops.

“Islington Square is a natural fit for our next venue and a strong addition to the neighbourhood’s established entertainment mix,” said We Do Play co-founder Rich Beese.

“With Islington’s reputation for excellent food, culture, and nightlife, it’s the perfect place for us to introduce something genuinely new to Upper Street. After the response to our first three London openings, expanding into Islington felt like the obvious next move.”

As well as the O2, Activate operates in Oxford Street, Westfield White City, and Vauxhall, with a further 60 locations running across Canada, the United States, and Dubai.
