Several key members of the Botswana Gambling Authority visited Admiral’s flagship Birmingham AGC last month as part of an international regulatory partnership led by the Gambling Commission, with representatives from Luxury Leisure showcasing how its extensive compliance measures work in practice.
Admiral hosted key members of the Botswana Gambling Authority at its flagship Birmingham venue last month for a “knowledge-exchange session,” after being asked by the Gambling Commission to showcase the regulated AGC model and sector best practices.
Senior officials from the BGA joined Luxury Leisure group counsel Elizabeth Speed and compliance director Mark Thompson for a tour of the recently-opened premises, to observe the sociable, community-focused and highly supervised nature of the gaming environment.
“Admiral always welcomes a chance to show and explain the comprehensive measures we have in place for customer safeguarding, and we were delighted to support the Gambling Commission with facilitating this important international knowledge-sharing initiative,” said Speed.
“The adult gaming centre model provides accessible entertainment in a controlled, supervised environment, and we’re tremendously proud of the exacting standards we maintain across all our venues throughout the UK.”
The Botswana Gambling Authority was in the UK as part of a wider programme of visits and workshops overseen by the Gambling Commission, designed to foster international regulatory cooperation and the sharing of effective governance frameworks.
The delegation included compliance and monitoring inspector Kgosi Mogende, chief digital officer Greene Sydney Kamakama, regulatory enforcement manager Linnet Mafukidze, and compliance and monitoring inspector Bonno Louis, who were particularly interested in discussing the technical systems and staff training programmes that underpin Admiral’s safeguarding initiatives, alongside other areas of operational best practice.
“The visit provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how responsible operators can deliver an enjoyable leisure experience while maintaining the highest levels of customer protection,” added Thompson.
