Apollo Bingo in Rhyl has thanked local emergency services for their quick response to a fire in the neighbouring building, which was extinguished before flames could reach the club itself.
The fire broke out in a vacant building on the night of 31 July, with staff and customers evacuated from the premises before fire crews and police spent three hours tackling the blaze.
“We have had a fire this evening, but we are very fortunate that the fire was part of the shops outside the front of the building, and wasn’t actually part of the bingo hall,” said a spokesperson. “A massive thank you from the bottom of my heart to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service for their fast response time and getting the fire extinguished.”
“To North Wales Police, thank you for your assistance with the emergency service response today – that was unhinged and absolutely amazing. Thank you to all the community coming out and supporting the club as well.”
