Inspired Entertainment has opened its new facility in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. It’s big, it’s state-of-the-art and it’s ready to roll out machines to entertain players up and down the country. Andrew Layton-Hill, Service Operations Director, talks to Coinslot about the new operation.
Inspired Entertainment has opened its new 58,000 sq. ft, state-of-the-art manufacturing, logistics and customer service operation in Ashby-de-la-Zouch – in the heart of England. The facility, one of the largest projects in the market town this year, features a significantly reduced carbon footprint and utilises modern technology that enhances cost and production efficiency.
But for all that tech and high spec quality, it was down to the various teams at Inspired who worked so hard to bring the facility on stream.
“The preparation and delivery of this opening has required monumental efforts by everyone involved,” said a proud Andrew Layton-Hill, Service Operations Director. “Inspired Ashby is open for business.”
Layton-Hill’s team ensured that “Ashby opened the new repair centre this morning without a gap in the delivery of services.”
The company has delivered on its promise of an “exciting new opening in Ashby.” This new centre, the company said, “will enhance our service offerings, improve logistical capabilities, and strengthen our commitment to delivering best in class customer service.”
The target for Ashby is simple: “to help gain a competitive advantage by reducing lead times, accelerating speed to market, and ensuring responsiveness to customer needs in today’s fast-paced business environment.”
Those goals have certainly hit the back of the net. The Digital Repair Centre, for example, provides faster, more efficient repair services, accelerating turnaround times and minimising downtime for Inspired’s clients.
“In every area, the core focus for Ashby has been to provide the best quality service to our customers,” said Layton-Hill. “In the repair centre, the designers made sure that there was extensive high bay storage so that parts and components for same day despatch will be optimised.”
Inspired applied the same attention to detail to other departments. The Customer Spares Sales team enjoy access to an expansive inventory for quick component availability; significant investment has been made in terminal refurbishment to help customers extend the lifecycle of their equipment.
For Inspired, the Ashby model is designed to maintain high-quality standards while offering cost-effective solutions. Nowhere is this more so than with Inspired’s Terminal Manufacturing Capabilities, where they have worked in partnership with their contract manufacturer, with a planned opening anticipated for some time in Q2 2025.
“This new Terminal Manufacturing Capabilities enhance production efficiency in response to the growing demand for quality terminal solutions,” said Layton-Hill and further demonstrates Inspired’s commitment to quality, reliability and effective lead times.
The modern facility is also a boost for compliance with environmental targets. The location and infrastructure include solar generation, EV charging bays, and importantly, fewer road miles to bring services and products to market, reducing previous carbon footprint significantly. It all adds up to a potent new manufacturing and service centre . . . in the centre of England.
Inspired is delighted with the investment, as Layton-Hill told Coinslot. “Opening our new facility in Ashby underscores our commitment to leveraging modern technology and operational excellence to meet our customers’ needs. By consolidating our services under one roof, we aim to simplify our customers’ experience and deliver greater value through enhanced service offerings.”
