The Atom jukebox has once again exceeded expectations, with NSM Music selling 700 of the small-footprint jukeboxes in the first quarter of this year, making it the UK’s fastest selling jukebox of the 21st Century. What’s the secret? Sales manager Alex Kirby explained it’s simply a case of the right product for the right market.
NSM Music has announced that during the first quarter of this year, 700 Atom jukeboxes flew off its shelves to venues across the country, making the compact crowdpleaser the fastest selling UK jukebox of this century.
With orders now topping 5,000, the appetite for the Atom shows no sign of flagging in its second year on the market, thanks to what sales manager Alex Kirby describes as an “amazing” price point and performance.
“The Atom continues to go from strength to strength,” said Kirby. “It’s absolutely incredible. What a product!”
“It just goes to show, if you get the right product for the right market, you’ll sell like hot cakes. I can’t tell you how surprised and excited we still are by the Atom.”
As well as widespread recognition of the Atom’s qualities, one significant prompt for increased sales has been the realisation by many operators that outdated operating systems such as Windows XP pose significant security risks, especially since Microsoft has not updated XP since 2014.
Venue owners are increasingly aware that weak links can allow bad actors to gain entry to linked networks which include ATMs and tills, a fact that NSM Music has been addressing for the past year by swapping its servers to Windows 10/11.
“We’ve been put in a position where we need to make people aware that this product is coming to an end and we’ve had to shut a couple of servers down already,” said Kirby.
“Of course, you can’t simply tell customers they have to update their machines. We’re not an aggressive sales company. We let them replace their machines with an Atom on trial, and let them see what that does to their profits, the reliability, the service calls. Nine times out of ten, you’ll get follow-up orders because people are seeing the revenue increase.”
“A modern jukebox is a totally different animal. You’ve got the benefit of more reliability, and it’s going to be no extra costs for three years because of the 3 year warranty. Soon, it’ll also have Quiz, and Bingo, and Music Bingo. For the price, and with a three-year warranty, how can you go wrong?”
