Bacta programme of Regional Meetings gets off to a ‘hugely positive start’

It’s good to talk as Bacta members from the South West and South Wales will testify following the regional meeting held in Taunton. Hosted by President Joseph Cullis, the meeting featured presentations from the Gambling Commission’s Andy Issacs, Graham England of the Addiction Recovery Agency as well as RBW’s Craig Morgan. The next Regional Meeting for members in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire is taking place 6 November in Wrotham, Kent.

The first Bacta Regional Meeting following the restructure of the trade association was held to widespread acclaim in Taunton on Tuesday 7 October.

An audience comprising members from the South West and South Wales attended the event which was hosted by President Joseph Cullis and included presentations by Andy Isaacs from the Gambling Commission, Craig Morgan from RBW, and Graham England representing the Addiction Recovery Agency.

Reflecting on the gathering of Bacta members, Joseph Cullis said: “This was the first Regional Meeting for me as President. We have responded to requests from members and ensured these opportunities to meet, network and share insights through a regional as well as a national lens are available. There are of course issues which are specific to a particular part of the country and these events are an appropriate opportunity to have a more targeted agenda and be more granular in our discussions.”

He added: “It’s always a pleasure to spend time with Bacta members, provide an update on all of the work that’s taking place behind the scenes, and share views on the challenges and opportunities ahead. The agenda and open Q&A succeeded in delivering a really positive day, and included plenty of informative discussions and updates – not least the opportunity to feedback on Bacta’s high profile presence at the Labour Party Conference and the initiatives that we are implementing as a result of the high-level meetings that we held with constituency MPs and Government Ministers.”

“I am hugely grateful to everyone who participated and engaged at the meeting, our speakers for the updates they provided and to our MSO team who fulfil such an important role assisting members ensure that their businesses remain compliant in what is such a highly regulated sector.”

Bacta’s second regional meeting for members in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire is taking place on 6 November (The Moat, Wrotham TN15 7RJ, 11am start). Members planning to participate are requested to confirm with their MSO to help get a clearer idea of numbers.

 Full agendas will follow.
