Bacta to reveal Phase Two of Portal project on opening day of EAG

EAG the single biggest event for the UK industry has been chosen by Bacta to update members on the Bacta Portal the development of which is being led by Rob Wheeler, Managing Director of RBW Systems. Rob and Bacta Executive Director, Robert Gibb will be explaining the key features of the system and the road map moving forward.

Bacta and its technical partner RBW Systems will be using January’s EAG Expo to update members on Phase 2 of the programme underpinning the overhaul of the Bacta Portal, the multi-operator self-exclusion and compliance solution.

Taking place at 3pm on Tuesday 14th January, the opening day of EAG, the briefing and demonstration will provide members with an opportunity to speak directly with RBW’s Managing Director Rob Wheeler who has led the project and to understand the Portal road map moving forward.

Previewing what will be an informal briefing and Q&A session Rob Wheeler said: “We will be explaining the journey taken to create the Guardian Compliance solution function in partnership with Bacta, a replacement for the existing Bacta portal, the key functions within the product and how it is designed to easily support the monitoring of customer interactions and escalations to the site manager of customers automatically flagged by the system.”

He added: “The RBW team has engaged with a range of stakeholders including with key industry operators and Bacta MSO’s to understand operator requirements and to reflect on the Gambling Commission’s current direction of travel. The central objective is to make life easier for gaming operations including the processing of period-end returns.”

Rob Wheeler underlined the importance of continuous improvement stating: “Like all software products the Guardian Compliance function once launched will continue to evolve, as continual improvement is fundamental to ensuring solutions remain fit for purpose, capable of easily supporting changes in legislation, and to take advantage of new technology.

“After the base Guardian Compliance product is in the field we will be quickly following-up with an optional integration with RBW’s market leading Guardian machine management & TITO system that supports automatic play time and spend notifications linked to existing Money Laundering and Safer Gambling functions. Following trials with three significant operators the product will be made available in March 2025.”

Confirming the central importance of the project, Robert Gibb Bacta’s Executive Director (Commercial ) said: “When Bacta announced the partnership with RBW Systems in June we confirmed our end vision of having a ‘world-class’ final product.

“EAG is the single biggest event for our industry and I hope that as many members as possible take the opportunity to see the progress that has been made, understand the new features and speak with the development team face-to-face.”
