Barry Island Pleasure Park will continue to introduce new rides as part of major improvements ahead of the busy summer season.
Already home to a wide range of rides, the park is best known for its towering Aerospace attraction, which stands at 65 metres and reaches speeds of 75mph. The ride remains the only one of its kind in the UK and has become a defining feature of the park’s skyline. Now, owners the Danter family are seeking to build on its reputation.
Among the latest additions is the Caterpillar Coaster, a family-friendly ride introduced during the half-term holidays to cater for younger visitors and those seeking a gentler experience.
Plans to add further attractions, including bumper cars, were delayed due to rising steel costs and supply issues linked to the war in Ukraine. However, these rides are now expected to arrive.
“We’re trying to take it from one level to the next the best we can,” commented owner Henry Danter. “We just want to make a good day out and experience for the people.”
Danter also hinted that its “biggest improvement yet” will be revealed later this year.
