Better Change to lead training seminar at GBG High Street Hub in Manchester

Better Change is to host a seminar on training, education and apprenticeships on the GBG High Street Hub at ARE this year, exploring how structured education can strengthen compliance capability, improve customer protection, and “enhance the reputation of the gambling sector.”

Led by director of strategic partnerships David Richardson and director of engagement Rob Mabbett, the session on 28 April will include updates on the development and impact of the Level Four Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship.

“The RCO Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised Higher Apprenticeship accredited under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) which Better Change have developed specifically for the Gambling Industry,” said Richardson.

“The programme builds practical competence across governance, regulatory risk management, assurance, monitoring, and ethical decision-making.”

Better Change’s GBG High Street Hub seminar will also examine the critical role of behaviour-focused staff training, embedding “Positive Play” principles, developing confident decision-makers, creating consistent standards across teams, and moving from reactive compliance to a proactive culture.

“As funding models evolve and regulatory expectations increase, education must not be seen as a tick-box exercise, but as a strategic investment in sustainable growth, risk reduction, and long-term sector credibility,” added Richardson.
