Big brands provide backing for Bacta SR Exchange

As the Bacta SR Exchange draws nearer support for the event continues to grow. The trade association has been successful in attracting sponsorship from some of the industry’s leading brands support which will enable it to keep the Exchange a free to attend event for members.

The importance the industry places on social responsibility and advocating safer gambling has been underlined with confirmation that Inspired Entertainment, MERKUR UK and Novomatic UK are co-sponsoring the Bacta SR Exchange which is being held 26 March at the Marriot Hotel in Leeds.

The sponsorship will help cover some of the costs involved in staging the Exchange and enable Bacta to maintain its status as a free to attend event for members of the trade association.

Elizabeth Speed who chairs Bacta’s Social Responsibility Committee and is leading the SR Exchange said: “I am delighted that three of the land-based sectors biggest brands are sponsoring the SR Exchange.  As well as enabling Bacta to keep it as a free to attend event for members it also carries an important symbolic significance and demonstrates how seriously the industry takes its SR commitments and responsibilities.”

She added: “The research we have undertaken following the last SR Exchange demonstrated how much participants valued the opportunity to discuss issues, challenges and best practice in smaller groups.

“The SR Exchange is not about policy debates: instead, it provides a forum for venue teams from different businesses to share, understand and then implement best practice.

It’s not an event that delegates just attend but one which they participate in and take key practical lessons learned back into their work place.”

The SR Exchange will also feature a session presented by Rob Mabbett of gaming consultancy Better Change who will explain the philosophy of Positive Play. Dan Whitlam, Director of Compliance at the Gambling Commission will also be making a key note speech which will include an update from the Commission on its  Raising Standards initiative. Dan is no stranger to Bacta events having attended November’s Annual Convention alongside the Commission’s Executive Director, Tim Miller.
