The annual Bingo Association Charity Golf day delivered “some truly incredible scores” this year, as representatives from across the industry gathered at Oulton Hall in Leeds to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
The 5 June event saw 66 players step on to the course to compete for this year’s prizes, with no fewer than five teams breaking the usual 100 points required to win the team event, eventually claimed by Club 3000 Bingo.
“The cream of the crop, rising to the top, and taking The Bingo Association Cup were from Club 3000 Bingo: Brian Fraser, Rob Lawson, David Boden and Simon Mercer,” said the Bingo Association. “Their score of 112 points was two ahead of last year’s winners, Boomerang Digital.”
“The individual winner, taking the Maygay Cup with a phenomenal round of 49 points was Mike Smith of LOL Bingo. It was surprising that 49 points didn’t win by a long way, but there were two other players on the same score – who only lost out on countback: David Boden and Dave Newman.”
Poppleston Allen’s Alex Tomlinson took home the Club 3000 Jug for the best Front Nine, and Boomerang’s Mel Kassim took the Batup Bowl for the best Back Nine, while a charity raffle and bingo game raised more than £1,500 for Variety.
