Clacton Pier’s fourth annual Oktoberfest event got off to a flying start last Saturday, with hundreds of visitors making their way to the attraction to enjoy a host of live music, games, beers, and authentic German food.
The Bavarian-themed festival will take place every weekend until early October, featuring entertainment from Ein Kleine Oompah Band, the Fabulous Tailfeathers, and comedy trio Heidi, Hans and Gunter, in a specially-erected marquee at the front of the pier.
“We introduced this event back in 2023 for the first time and we have been able to perfect and grow it year on year,” said GM Harry Peek. “I am sure we will get many returners and some new faces who will enjoy the fun on offer.
“The new swing grill will be something special and Ein Kleine Oompah Band have also grown, welcoming a fourth member for the Saturday performances.”
The free-to-attend event aims to recreate an authentic Hofbrauhaus atmosphere on the Essex coast, with the new “bigger and better” swing grill serving food such as bratwurst and pretzels to complement the steins of beer.
“There are no tickets or booking – just come along and have a great time with family and friends. This is the latest in a long list of live events for 2026 which just keep coming.”
