Crystal Hut reopens on Llandudno Pier after storm damage repaired

The Crystal Hut on Llandudno Pier has become the first of the kiosks damaged during Storm Darragh to reopen.

The gift shop was closed for two months as repairs were made to its roof, but will now welcome customers back as work continues on restoring the pier itself.

“After more than two months of being closed from Storm Darragh, we can announce our Llandudno Pier store is officially back open,” said a spokesperson. “There may be some more work to be completed on the pier, which in the weeks coming we may have to close, but we will open as much as possible.”

“Thank you for all the love we have received since the storm. It’s been a difficult couple of months, but we have got there because of your support and love. We look forward to welcoming you back to our beautiful hut on Llandudno Pier once again.”

The Crystal Hut was lucky to survive storm conditions in December, which destroyed two other kiosks and caused an estimated £250,000 worth of damage to the pier’s roof alone.

Speaking to North Wales Live last month, owner Adam Williams said “we are now aiming for a full opening by the February half term – that is our target.”
