A new sports bar has launched in the centre of Worcester two months later than expected, after planning delays meant the Carden Street venue was ready but unable to open.
Cue Corner was finally able to welcome customers as of 5 April, offering pool tables, darts, 14 screens showing live sports, a bar and grill.
“The venue has been ready for about eight weeks,” director Dean Townsend told Worcester News.
“We’re going to be doing some memberships and we’ll be doing food and drink all day. We’ll be showing football on Sky and TNT sports. We have got some good deals on too.”
Townsend hopes the new venue will also get young people in Worcester interested in darts, after a “downturn” following the closure of Riley’s Sports Bar in 2020.
“We are looking forward to bringing junior darts back to Worcester. Parents are having to go to Halesowen, which is about a half an hour drive away. It’s giving people and youngsters the opportunity to try something different. The leagues have taken a big downturn and there’s no fresh blood coming through.”
