Southend Pier is to host an adventure-filled prehistoric weekend this Easter, with interactive shows, fossil hunting, and “dinosaur meet and greets.”

The Jurassic Pier event will be open from 18 to 20 April, and will run alongside the pier’s dinosaur egg hunt, which takes place every day between 5 and 21 April.

“During the event on the long bank holiday weekend, Southend Pier will see interactive shows, crafting activities and fossil hunting take place alongside dinosaur ‘meet and greets,’” reported the Echo. “Children will also join Professor Foss-Cecil and the Jurassic Safari team on an exciting adventure.”

“The festivities will coincide with the landmark’s dinosaur egg hunt in a fun twist on an Easter egg trail. Visitors will need to find all the eggs hidden across the pier to find out the dinosaur’s name before heading to the gift shop to claim a pier souvenir.”
