Dublin opens Windows for NSM to showcase the benefits of 10/11 operating system

With NSM Music preparing to upgrade its Irish customers from Windows XP to Windows 10/11, IGS gave the form the perfect opportunity to extoll the benefits of the new operating system, which not only provides greater security, but also delivers a “significant uplift” in takings.

As NSM Music prepares to shift its Irish network from Windows XP to Windows 10/11, IGS allowed the company to demonstrate the security and financial benefits to be gained from upgrading the operating software.

Speaking to Coinslot, sales manager Alex Kirby explained how NSM is tailoring its offer to reflect regional requirements, and how operating with the latest technology is a “win-win” for venues across the island of Ireland.

“We’re trying to push people out of Windows XP mainly for security round online connections,” said Kirby. “Because of that people are embracing the new hardware, the capabilities and functions, and of course the new Atom, the most cost-effective way to get into Windows 10/11. We did really well, and orders have continued to roll in after the show.”

With Windows 10/11 offering the latest protections for both customers and venue operators, Kirby said that the new system has proved “an easy sell,” especially when it delivers an uplift in take.

“People are updating their estate, getting a three-year warranty – they know they’re not going to have more costs for that period – and the cost of the jukebox is minimal, so it’s a win-win.”

Attending IGS also gave NSM the opportunity to deepen its understanding of the local market, with Kirby noting that though Northern Ireland follows similar trends to the UK – and in fact is performing better than England – the Republic is “a different animal altogether.”

“We haven’t yet got the app in southern Ireland, that’s coming out this year, which they’re eagerly awaiting, and that’ll make a big difference to people. That and the Phantom.” “Northern Ireland will get the Phantom at the end of Q2, as with the rest of the UK, but because of the app southern Ireland is not quite ready, though it will be by the end of the year.”
