Fayre Play to open first adults-only funfair-themed entertainment venue in Newcastle

Funfair-themed competitive socialising brand Fayre Play is to open its first venue in Newcastle this summer, occupying “a huge unit” in the city’s The Gate retail centre.

Already well-established in Scotland, the company offers guests the chance to play a host of traditional sideshow games with a modern twist, as well as offering cocktails and food.

“Fayre Play, founded by husband and wife team Craig and Kasia Neilson, has been a popular addition to the night life scene in Glasgow and Edinburgh for some time,” reported the Chronicle.

“People flock to the sites to play everything from Tinning Park, Shots Fired, Skee-Baw, Slam Drunk and Bulls Aye. The venue is also well known for giving away enormous cuddly ducks as prizes.”

The Newcastle venue will also include games geared towards its Northeast customers, with an interior designed by Gateshead-based Pulp Studios Design House “rooted in local flair”

“We’re buzzing to finally reveal more about the Newcastle launch,” said Neilson. “There’s been loads of interest already, and everything’s coming together really nicely. We can’t wait to give the city its own version of Fayre Play – it’s going to be special.”

The precise opening date and early bird tickets will be released via the Fayre Play mailing list in the coming weeks.
