Full house: Buzz Bingo NGR rises 5 percent for 2024 as younger players flock to venues

Buzz Bingo has reported NGR for the year to 11 January 2025 was up 5 percent to £217.2m, with retail revenue up 3 percent to £173m, as a continued investment in bricks-and-mortar clubs delivers a surge in younger players.

Buzz Bingo has reported Net Gaming Revenue for the year ended 11 January 2025 was up 5 percent year-on-year to £217.2m, with underlying EBITDA – the group’s key measure of profitability – rising 20 percent to £41.8m.

The figures mark a second consecutive year of double-digit earnings growth and come as the brand continues to invest in modernising its retail sites in a bid to attract the next generation of players.

“We have had another strong year, delivering a 20 percent increase in EBITDA, and revenue growth across both our retail and online channels,” said CEO Dominic Mansour. “We have continued this strong momentum into 2025.”

“Our multi-year investment plan to modernise our clubs positions us to be the ‘venue of choice’ for the next generation of players as we build on the popularity of bingo around the country.”

For 2024, retail NGR increased 3 percent on a like-for-like basis to £173m, as Buzz acquired two of the UK’s largest bingo clubs while delivering a new high-street “lounge-style” concept club in Borehamwood.

This momentum has continued into the current financial year, with over 175,000 new customers recorded over the course of the last 12 months, of which half were under 35 years old, delivering an 8 percent uptick in group revenue for both club and online.

“With more Gen Zs and millennials taking up bingo, customer admissions are in growth and up 3 percent year-on-year over the last quarter,” said Mansour. “Despite a very hot summer this is our biggest quarter on record since before covid.”

In July this year, the company also agreed a £25m investment package, and identified eight clubs set for refurbishment in 2025.

“Looking forward, focus will be on continuing to grow the customer base by building on Buzz’s player-centric omnichannel offering and investing in its clubs with the latest technology.”

“The Group remains well-positioned to capture the growth opportunity in the bingo market as more and more young players seek out great value leisure experiences in their local communities and online.”
