Funstation Group is set to open a fourth site for its Volcano Falls Adventure Golf brand, with a new venue confirmed for the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds later this year.

The attraction will take over the former Sports Direct unit on The Balcony and will feature two themed adventure golf courses, alongside electric darts and a licensed bar. The opening marks the latest stage in Funstation’s expansion of experience-led leisure venues within major retail destinations.

James Miller, chief executive of Funstation, said the location was a strong fit for the brand’s growing portfolio. 

“White Rose is an excellent fit for Volcano Falls,” he commented. “We continue to see strong demand for immersive, experience-led attractions that work alongside retail, and this location allows us to showcase one of our most established and successful formats in a high-quality regional destination.”

The Leeds site will join existing Volcano Falls venues in Castleford, Edinburgh and Milton Keynes. Funstation also operates ten Funstation FECs, three Laser Station venues and a Breakout escape room. 

As consumer demand continues to shift towards social and activity-based experiences, Funstation’s latest expansion reflects a wider trend of operators partnering with shopping centres to drive footfall through entertainment offers that complement traditional retail.
