Funstation shines bright in High Wycombe and Belfast for Rays of Sunshine

Rays of Sunshine was delighted to support its friends at Funstation, as they celebrated a series of wins over the month.

Earlier this month, Carnival Golf & Games – the newest entertainment destination from the Funstation Group – officially opened its doors in High Wycombe. The Grand Opening brought the local community together with an evening of entertainment, circus performers and games.

The celebrations culminated in the Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council and the Mayor of High Wycombe leading the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, formally declaring Carnival Golf & Games open to the public.

It was also an opportunity for Funstation to continue its unwavering support of Rays of Sunshine, as its new venue proudly donated £2,500 to help grant more magical wishes for seriously ill children.

Among the VIP guests at the Carnival Golf & Games Grand Opening was nine-year-old Kaiden, a Rays of Sunshine wish child, who attended with his family and our mascot Sunny. As Kaiden’s mum, Kathryn, shared: “Kaiden came home absolutely buzzing. We had such a good time and we’re already planning our next trip back!”

Just a week later, the Funstation team once again opened their doors to Rays of Sunshine, this time in Belfast. This was the first time one of Funstation’s VIP Days was hosted in Northern Ireland.

Eight-year-old Lily and her family enjoyed a jam packed day of fun across Odyssey Place, home to Funstation’s Belfast arcade. From arcade games and crazy golf to pizza lunches, waffle making, Lily and her family were treated like true VIPs.

A highlight of the day was a special visit from Belfast Giants players Patrick Grasso and Garrett McFadden. The family had the opportunity to meet both players and take part in a fun “Play Against the Giants” session on the Giants’ Inspired Hockey Table. Patrick, proudly sponsored by Funstation, also gifted Lily and her family tickets to the upcoming Champions Hockey League, extending the excitement beyond the day itself.

The day was made even more special by another £2,500 donation from Funstation to Rays of Sunshine, ensuring more families like Lily’s can experience joy and create lasting memories. Lily’s mum, Madeline, summed it up:

“Lily said it was the best day ever. From the welcome packs to the food, the arcade games and the teddies – we cannot thank Funstation enough for such a lovely family day out.”

For Rays of Sunshine, these events are a reminder of the extraordinary impact made possible by the generosity of Bacta members.

Amy Chambers, CEO at Rays of Sunshine, said: “The team at Funstation have been loyal supporters of Rays of Sunshine for many years. We rely on this generosity to brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children when they need it most, and we are so grateful for their continued support.”
