Grand Pier surprises patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children with dino visit

The Grand Pier surprised patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children this week with a visit from Danny the Triceratops, who helped staff hand out more than 170 gifts to children receiving treatment.

The animatronic dinosaur toured the wards on 14 September presenting gifts such as cuddly toys, dinosaur trucks, and activity packs, supported by the Axentis Michael Charity Trust and Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.

“We absolutely love our visits to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children,” said the Grand Pier’s marketing executive Ruby Harvey. “Seeing the children’s faces light up as our new triceratops stomped onto the wards was truly special.”

“Giving back to our local community is so important to the pier, and the warm welcome we receive from staff and families makes it all the more rewarding. A huge thank you to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal for helping us make the special visit happen!”
