Inspired announces £18.6m sale of its UK holiday park business

Inspired Entertainment has announced the sale of its UK holiday park business and “certain associated leisure assets” to Tokyo-listed entertainment company GENDA Inc, for a total consideration of £18.6m.

Inspired Entertainment has confirmed the sale of its UK holiday park business to Japanese entertainment firm GENDA Inc for a total consideration of £18.6m, with the deal also including “certain associated leisure assets” of Indigo NewCo Ltd.

The company will continue to provide gaming content and platform services on a recurring revenue basis to Indigo NewCo Ltd as part of the agreement, which Inspired’s executive chair Lorne Weil described as “the next step in the ongoing evolution of our strategy.”

“We continue to move toward a more digital and scalable model, which offers stronger long-term growth potential and a higher margin profile,” said Weil. “The sale of the holiday parks business helps to further align our portfolio, increasing our digital EBITDA mix and improving our company-wide EBITDA margin.”

“It also streamlines our operations, moving us towards a more agile, less capital and labor intensive structure with increased flexibility in capital allocation. Overall, it aligns with our strategy and our focus on building value sustainably over time.”

Immediately prior to the sale, Inspired operated and managed more than 11,000 amusement and gaming machines across approximately 170 FECs and AGCs in UK holiday parks and entertainment venues, reported as part of the company’s Leisure segment.

“The transaction is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to required regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. Net proceeds of the sale will primarily be used to pay down debt.”

GENDA has recently been making a concerted effort to enter the UK market, bringing its GiGO vending brand to the country for the first time earlier this year with two locations in London, on Shaftesbury Avenue and at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush.

“This will be the first time for ‘GiGO brand’ to open a store in the West,” said a spokesperson in May. “We have been aggressively deploying ‘GiGO brand’ not only in Japan but also abroad such as Taiwan and Vietnam. We will proactively promote the opening of ‘GiGO’ mini-locations in the UK, too, through GENDA Europe.”
