Intervision Gaming UK has submitted plans to reopen the former Mecca Bingo in Gloucester city centre as an AGC under the operating name The Razz, as the company embarks on a major expansion.
The 23,000 sq ft Eastgate Street premises ceased trading as a bingo hall in 2022 after 46 years, but could now become the London-based operator’s sixth UK venue, if plans are approved by Gloucester City Council.
“Intervision said the new business will be a continuation of its successful trading template,” reported Punchline Gloucester. “The London-based technology and entertainment company had signed for the lease after it was marketed by chartered surveyors ASH.”
“Intervision added that more details of the plans for the Gloucester outlet will be revealed imminently, with the venture creating ‘new job prospects and footfall stimulus for the city centre.’”
Intervision operates sites in Rugby, Nuneaton, and two in Inverness, with a fifth licensing submission currently under consideration by Bromley Borough Council for a 24-hour AGC in Orpington.
In a background statement, the company said “over an extensive period of time, Intervision is gaining its footprint in the electronic gaming world due to the high-tech key technology assets.”
