A man who broke into an arcade on the Isle of Wight in order to steal lighters will be sentenced next month, after pleading guilty to a series of offences during a Crown Court hearing last week.
Aaran Wood admitted three assaults and three counts of shoplifting between 19 and 29 December last year, as well as burglary and attempted robbery, and will return to court for sentencing on 14 May.
“The 33-year-old admitted burglary of the Summer Arcade, on Shanklin Esplanade, on 29 December, forcing entry to the premises during the holiday week, stealing lighters,” reported the County Press.
“Wood’s offending continued that day, in Ryde, when he stole goods from Iceland and assaulted a staff member.”
Judge Daniel Sawyer also ordered a probation report.
