MERKUR Slots team member praised for rapid response during medical emergency

Venue Supervisor Robert Dolbien kept a cool head and acted decisively helping to ensure the wellbeing of a customer at MERKUR Slots in Shirley High Street, Southampton.

The vital community role played by Adult Gaming Centres and their staff has been put into sharp focus after a member of the team at MERKUR Slots on Shirley High Street, Southampton acted swiftly and decisively to intervene when a customer was experiencing a medical episode.

 Venue Supervisor Robert Dolbien, who has been praised by customers, colleagues and the company was on duty when the customer began experiencing a seizure. Adhering to recommended medical procedures the 36-year-old rushed to her side, prevented her from collapsing, and stayed with her until paramedics arrived. His prompt actions ensured the customer’s safety during what was a distressing medical emergency.

 Reflecting on his actions, Robert said: “I wanted to make sure she was OK. I saw she was in distress and knew that I had to stay calm and keep her safe until help arrived. I’m just glad I could be there when it mattered.”

MERKUR Casino Chief Operating Officer Mark Schertle commented: “Robert showed incredible care and composure in what was a very serious situation. His instinctive reaction and the calm way that he supported the customer were truly impressive. Robert’s response epitomises what MERKUR is all about. Venue Manager Katarzyna Abdelmoaty added: “Robert made sure the customer was safe and comforted, and he stayed completely in control throughout. His actions reassured not just the customer, but everyone in the venue. Needless to say, we are all incredibly proud of him.”
