Casino MK has been welcomed into the MERKUR UK family and has a mission to offer guests a world class entertainment experience underpinned by a world-class selection of table games including blackjack, poker, roulette and slot machines.

MERKUR UK has expanded its footprint of gambling entertainment venues following the acquisition of The Casino MK in Milton Keynes.

The venue, located within the Xscape leisure complex was previously operated by Aspers and closed its doors in April after the company entered administration. In a move that reflects the company’s support for the local community MERKUR aim to create local jobs for both new, and former employees.

This acquisition marks MERKUR’s second UK casino venue and follows the 2023 launch of its Aberdeen Casino. The move underlines the company’s continued investment in the UK gaming industry and its commitment to supporting the high street.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer for MERKUR Casino UK, said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring The Casino MK into the MERKUR family. This venue has played a significant role in the local leisure and entertainment market. Our aim is to get the casino open again as quickly and smoothly as possible, and we are, of course, particularly proud to be bringing more jobs to Milton Keynes, which is also the home of our UK headquarters.”

The Milton Keynes venue will undergo enhancements in line with MERKUR’s brand standards, offering guests a world-class selection of table games including blackjack, poker, roulette, and the latest slot machine games.
