The National Bingo Game has launched a new £250,000 jackpot giving players the chance to win by calling bingo in just 14 numbers, adding “a new level of excitement” to National Bingo Game sessions across the country.
The jackpot was officially launched on 12 February with an advertising campaign inspired by lucky charms and player rituals, with research finding more than half of UK players have at least one lucky number.
“Winning £250,000 in just 14 numbers is a game-changing moment for bingo, adding a new level of excitement to the same great game people know and love,” said Miles Baron, CEO of the National Bingo Game Association.
“At its heart, bingo is a game of chance, which is why it’s so accessible and widely enjoyed, and our lucky charms campaign celebrates that magic.”
According to the association’s research, 38 percent of UK residents say they own at least one lucky item, while three quarters follow specific rituals they believe improve their luck.
“Common habits include touching wood after saying something positive to avoid tempting fate (32 percent) and avoiding ‘jinxing’ phrases such as ‘it’s going well’ or ‘nothing could go wrong’ (27 percent).”
