New bingo hall gets go-ahead in Watton

Watton in Norfolk is set to get its first-ever bingo hall after plans were approved to convert a former café on the high street.

Dennis Brooks has been granted planning permission to change the use of the property, with the local council confirming no alterations will be made to the Grade II listed building or its interior layout. No opening date or operating details were included in planning documents, however the operator appears to have picked a prime location for the new venue.

“The building is located on Watton High Street in a prominent central location alongside other businesses and financial institutions within an established town centre community,” read the application.

While Watton does not appear to have previously had its own dedicated bingo hall, the game is still played at the town’s Queen’s Hall and Sports and Social Centre, where locals enjoy regular sessions.
