Bridgend Council has confirmed that a new funfair operated by Studt’s Events will open on Porthcawl seafront later this month, as work continues to demolish Coney Beach Amusement Park in order to make way for mixed-use redevelopment.
Bridgend Council has announced that a new seasonal funfair will open in Porthcawl at the end of this month, offering rides, a big wheel and food stalls, following the closure of Coney Beach Amusement Park last year.
While work continues to demolish the 100-year-old attraction to make way for a mixed-use redevelopment, Studt’s Events will operate Fun Land at Salt Lake on the town’s Eastern Promenade until September.
“This fantastic opportunity reinforces our commitment towards delivering high-quality leisure and cultural attractions for Porthcawl that can be enjoyed by both residents and tourists alike,” said councillor Neelo Farr.
“We want to provide family-friendly activities that add to what Porthcawl already offers while also supporting local businesses by bringing more people into the town and county borough. I am pleased that the funfair will be inclusive and accessible for all visitors, and it is great to see how our plans for Porthcawl are starting to come together.”
Fun Land will welcome its first guests on 28 March, and will be open daily until 12 April, when it will switch to opening on weekends and school holidays “throughout the season.”
“As a family-run business with a long heritage in the funfair and events industry, we have extensive experience in delivering both small community attractions and larger-scale events,” said Henry Studt, of Studt’s Events.
“We are genuinely delighted to be bringing a family funfair to Porthcawl and are looking forward to playing a positive part in the town’s seasonal offer for residents and visitors.”
