Olympic champion Greg Rutherford opens new Hollywood Bowl Reading

Olympic champion Greg Rutherford officially opened Hollywood Bowl’s new £4.5m Reading venue last week, located in The Oracle’s Riverside leisure quarter.

Praising the venue as “so fun,” the long jump gold medallist followed the ceremony by challenging partner Susie Verrill and son Milo to bowling and arcade games.

“It’s been so fun to visit with my family and get our bowl on,” said Rutherford. “Milo is such a good bowler, he scored two strikes! Me? Think I’ll stick to the long jump!”

The new centre features 24 lanes and an “immersive amusement arcade,” as well as an all-American diner, and sports bar broadcasting live TNT and Sky Sports.

“From the first day we opened our doors, we have made an impact on the local community,” added centre manager Andrew Miles-McCormick. “We’re delighted to have received incredible feedback from locals and we’re excited to welcome families and friends to the new entertainment centre.”
