The Payment Choice Alliance has published a new free-to-use Cash Welcome logo to help businesses demonstrate their continued acceptance of notes and coins both online and in-venue.
Shared via the PCA’s social media pages, the “very positive message” is designed to illustrate that many firms are still eager to retain cash as a payment option, despite a rising trend in cashless.
“We invite all businesses like Marks and Spencer (who could do with giving some good news to customers), Lidl GB, all members of the British Retail Consortium, all members of the Association of Convenience Stores, all members of the British Beer and Pub Association – and so on – who welcome cash to use this imagery both on their websites and on door/window stickers,” said a PCA spokesperson.
“We do not have the resources of Visa or Mastercard, fighting their ‘war on cash’ by putting their messaging everywhere. We must rely on British businesses to do the right thing by clearly informing the British public that their cash – their British £ – is not merely ‘accepted’ but welcomed!”
The Cash Welcomed sign is available through the PCA website.
