Pleasure Beach Resort  to allow dogs for first time this month

Pleasure Beach Resort in Blackpool has announced dogs will be welcome at the attraction every Sunday this month, as part of a new Dog’s Day Out initiative.

Pet owners will be able to buy a special Dog Entry Pass for their four-legged friends every Sunday, with water and treat stations set up around the park.

“We know that so many of our guests see their dogs as part of the family, and leaving them behind for the day can be a real worry,” said CEO Amanda Thompson. “Dog-friendly Sundays mean guests no longer have to choose between a great day out and doing what’s best for their pet.”

“We’ve always been a family park–family owned, for families – and with this latest step, we can truly say we’re a destination for all.”

Though the announcement was met with approval by many dog owners, some took to the Pleasure Beach Facebook page to share their scepticism.

“Crap and pish on the floor, dog poo bags getting hot and sweaty in the bins smelling fresh, oh yes what a joy,” wrote one. “Barking yapping dogs fighting. Where do I sign up?”

Another person wrote “I’m all for more dog-friendly places, but this is such a bad idea.”

Not sure how that last one works.
