Pleasurewood Hills lodges plans for four new amusement rides

After acquiring Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft from the Looping Group last year, Premier Attractions Ltd has lodged plans with East Suffolk Council to add four new amusement rides.

If approved, the project would see a Star Flyer, Spinning Coaster, Big Wheel and Apple Coaster installed at the Leisure Way site, ensuring the park remains “a key visitor attraction.”

“[The rides] are part of a package of investment that will secure the long-term future and continued competitiveness of Pleasurewood Hills as a key visitor attraction within East Suffolk,” states the submission.

“The proposals form part of a wider strategy to reinvigorate the park, increase visitor numbers, extend dwell time, and ensure that Pleasurewood Hills remains competitive within the regional tourism and leisure market.”

The ambitious proposals are currently awaiting a decision from councillors, and if successful could see Premier Attractions, managed by the Stokes family, deliver on promises made last October to return the park to its “former glory.”

“We’re not going to fix everything overnight, but we promise we will improve the park,” Freddy Stokes told the Great Yarmouth Mercury at the time. “But without people coming back, it’s all for nothing, so we need their support.”
