Retropolis celebrates a new licence with revamped look

Retropolis Classic Amusements in Southend-on-Sea has unveiled a revamped look to go with its new licence as the operator prepares for a busy festive season.

The venue, known for its nostalgic fruit machines and vintage arcade appeal, announced the update alongside a reminder of its entry rules.

“Remember we are strictly over 18’s to enter the premises now that we have our new license,” the operator said on social media. “If you are fortunate enough to look younger than you are we challenge ID!”

The policy follows the granting of a fresh operating licence and aims to ensure compliance with age-restricted gaming regulations. The business is encouraging visitors to make the most of December’s seasonal footfall, highlighting the range of festive parking options available nearby.

“Come and pay us a visit,” continued the operator. “Lots of free Christmas parking opportunities in December on Sundays in and around the town only a few minutes walk to us.”

Located within walking distance of central Southend, Retropolis continues to attract enthusiasts drawn to its classic machines and retro atmosphere. With its updated interior and renewed licensing terms, the venue hopes to welcome both long-time followers and curious newcomers over the Christmas period.
