Riding high: Mumbles Pier to add two new attractions for 2025

Families visiting Mumbles Pier this year to ride the Big Wheel will also be able to enjoy a new children’s roller coaster and Dodgems from Studts Funfairs, as the Bolloms continue to invest in bringing the landmark to life.

Mumbles Pier is planning to make 2025 a year to remember for all the right reasons, with the addition of two brand new family-friendly rides, alongside the return of the popular Big Wheel.

The investment comes as the pier continues to clear the former Cinderella’s nightclub site following a devastating fire in 2022 and another in 2024, allowing Studts Funfair to expand its annual offer.

“After more investment in the further clearing of the old Cinderella’s site and the part-demolition of the damaged Mumbles Pier Arcade we have made more room for our return to Mumbles Pier,” said Sean Smith, Studts’ operations manager.

“The Big Wheel was always set to return to Mumbles Pier and after the great reception that it received last year, it seemed like this was the next step in bringing more family fun to Mumbles Pier.”

Studts was back on site from 12 February, telling followers “we had a very productive day at Mumbles Pier today getting the base of The Big Wheel set in place along with the legs, ready for the big lift tomorrow morning.”

This year, the wheel was erected alongside a new full-size Dodgems track and croc-themed children’s roller coaster, The Go Gator, representing a significant expansion of the pier’s existing amusement offer.

The new additions are part of Mumbles Pier owners the Bollom’s ongoing plans to finance the restoration of the historic pier, in order to reopen it for visitors and allow the RNLI to return to its base at the end of the structure.
