SEGA makes 5-year old Chase’s wish come true with a super Sonic the Hedgehog meet and greet

Rays of Sunshine was delighted to partner up with the team at SEGA this month, to deliver a truly special wish for 5-year-old Chase.

Chase was introduced to Rays of Sunshine, after being diagnosed with leukaemia at just four years old.

Young Chase says Sonic the Hedgehog is his “favourite in the whole world”. He loves watching videos of Sonic, and watched them all throughout his cancer treatment in hospital.

For his wish, Rays of Sunshine worked with SEGA to host an unforgettable meeting between Chase and his favourite character. Chase and his family were invited to the luxurious Clermont Hotel in London, enjoying the VIP treatment, before being joined by a special guest: Sonic himself!

Together, the pair zoomed around the room, showing off how speedy they could be. There was also plenty of dancing and games.

The whole experience was a magical one for Chase and his family, who couldn’t thank SEGA enough for making their little boy’s wish come true after going through so much, so young.

Lester Travasso, Marketing Manager at Sega Amusements International says: “At SEGA Amusements, we feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to help make Chase’s wish to meet Sonic the Hedgehog come true. After weeks of planning, seeing Chase’s excitement on the day made it all worthwhile, and we’re so happy to have played a small part in such a special experience – his joy truly warms our hearts.

“A huge thank you to everyone at Rays of Sunshine for the amazing work you do in bringing so much happiness to children like Chase. Your efforts truly make a difference, and it’s a privilege for us at SEGA Amusements to be involved.”

Nicola Aquila, Major Gifts and Partnerships Lead at Rays of Sunshine says: “We are so grateful to the team at SEGA for making Chase’s biggest wish come true.

“This is yet another example of the generosity of Bacta members and how passionate they are about making magical wishes happen for seriously and terminally ill children.”
