Serena Silcock-Prince takes on Strictly challenge for local hospice charity push

Head of operations for Silcock Leisure Group, Serena Silcock-Prince, is to take part in this year’s Strictly Queenscourt event, dancing a waltz to raise funds for the local hospice.

The charity dance competition will take place at the Prince Of Wales Hotel on 15 November, and will see 12 contestants compete with their partners for the 2025 title.

“As a local family-run business very much invested in our local community, we have long been huge supporters of Queenscourt,” Silcock-Prince told Stand Up For Southport.

“When I was watching Strictly last year, Queenscourt’s amazing Fundraising Manager Liz Hartley asked if I would like to take part this year and I thought – ‘why not’? I thought ‘it’s now or never!’”

Since agreeing, Silcock-Prince has been training with dancers from Marshside School of Dance, and has so far raised over £2,000 in sponsorship, with donations still open via JustGiving.

“I’ve got no chance of winning, but I am determined to do all I can to try and raise as much money and awareness as I can for Queenscourt Hospice. It’s such an amazing charity which provides so much care for local families.”
