Stott highlights importance of meningitis research as Half Marathon approaches

Quentin Stott has highlighted the vital importance of meningitis research as he continues to raise funds for the Spencer Dayman charity by completing a half marathon.

The Reflex Gaming MD will take part in the London Landmarks Half on 12 April, and has drawn attention to the highly topical nature of the cause.

“As you will have seen in the news over the past few days, there has been a devastating outbreak of meningitis in the Kent area,” said Stott.

“If any readers are able to support scientific research into the continued efforts to eradicate this horrible disease, then I’d be most grateful if they could sponsor me.”

Spencer Dayman Meningitis Research is behind pioneering vaccine research to combat the rising tide of Group A Strep, as well as a groundbreaking project to develop a diagnostic kit to accurately and quickly diagnose meningitis, sepsis and other infectious diseases.

“Since losing our son Dylan to meningococcal septicaemia aged just 21 months in 2005, my family and I have been involved in raising funds to support medical research into the eradication of all forms of meningitis and sepsis,” added Stott.

“I’m hoping once again to raise funds for this amazing cause.”
