Tenpin has announced that it intends to open its new Wakefield bowling and entertainment complex in spring of 2026, as work progresses on converting the top floor of the former Debenhams store into the city’s premier leisure destination.
Once open, Tenpin Wakefield will offer 24 bowling lanes, two karaoke rooms, a laser tag arena, arcade area, interactive darts, three escape rooms, pool tables and cocktail bar and diner, with locals already providing an “overwhelmingly positive” response.
“This is a massive project for us, for Wakefield and for Trinity Walk – and we’re all really excited because this will be game-changing,” said regional manager Marc Couget. “It’s a major piece of work converting a former Debenhams store into a leisure complex, but a lot of the demolition and prep work has been completed, meaning Tenpin can begin our fitout soon.”
“The response we’ve had from the Wakefield and Yorkshire public has been overwhelmingly positive and it’s humbling to see that we are bringing something here that people have wanted in the city centre for so long.”
The venue is expected to create approximately 40 new jobs, with Trinity Walk’s centre manager James White stating Tenpin will “take our already hugely successful shopping centre onto the next level.”
