Thank you, Elliot Ball

Rays of Sunshine is hugely grateful to Clacton Pier Company Director Elliot Ball, whose Palma Marathon fundraiser raised more than £10,000 to help us grant more magical wishes.

On his fundraiser, Elliot said: “In Mid-October this year I undertook to run the Palma Marathon, in memory of my late parents Billy and Lynn Ball, who are both missed greatly by me, my brother and many other family and friends. In the weeks running up to the marathon, I felt it right to use this opportunity to attempt to fundraise for a known charity to me and the Amusement industry – Rays of Sunshine.

“In our business we are surrounded by children’s happiness every day, but for some children there are desperate and challenging times ahead due to unfortunate health concerns. Rays of Sunshine do something very special, by creating wishes for children and families who deserve it most and this provides a day where their troubles may be momentarily forgotten.

“I hope some of us read this small note and feel inspired to do the same one day, as any awareness or moneys that can be raised for this worthy cause – gives a great sense of giving back and who better to support than children at a time of need.

“Thank you to all of those who have supported me in this effort and donated so generously, I look forward to reading about others who support in a similar way.”

Amy Chambers, Director of Fundraising & Communications at Rays of Sunshine, said: “We are so grateful to Elliot for fundraising for Rays of Sunshine as part of his heartfelt marathon run.

“This amazing amount of money will help us grant many more wishes for seriously ill children – brightening their lives when they need it most.”
