Brean Theme Park is to reopen today after delaying its proposed revival due to ongoing negotiations with land owner Unity Holidays, which forced a temporary closure of the theme park earlier this year as a result of “repeated failings on the part of the operator.”
Brean Theme Park is to reopen this Bank Holiday weekend, following protracted negotiations with landowner Unity Holidays to revive the park after its operating company entered liquidation in February.
General manager Peter Mainwaring confirmed plans to keep the park open throughout the Easter holidays, with an agreement for its long-term operation due to be in place by May.
“Although the group structure has changed, our loyal visitors will still enjoy the same park, the same team, and the same great day out,” said Mainwaring.
“For clarity, Brean Theme Park is not owned by Unity Holidays. We operate as a fully independent business and lease land from them. We look forward to continuing to work together.”
The park entered liquidation in the first week of February, posting resolutions for winding-up in The Gazette. However, despite Hazlewoods LLP being appointed as liquidator, the park confirmed it would reopen for the 2026 season, announcing an initial target date of 21 April.
Speaking on the reopening, Unity Holidays CEO Mark Seaton said: “We had to take the difficult decision to force a temporary closure of the theme park due to repeated failings on the part of the operator, but we have given them permission to resume operating as from today.”
“Our priority has always been to help secure a positive long-term future for the theme park, one that protects its place at the heart of Brean and ensures it continues to offer great-value family fun for many years to come. We are very close to that new agreement which will ensure the future of the theme park and commits to significant reinvestment in it.”
Egg-cellent Easter for Brean fans
