A book of condolence has been opened for Harry Symonds at The Deluxe in Hastings, after the well-known arcade operator passed away in hospital on 9 June.
Symonds ran the seafront venue from 1969 to 2024, and will be remembered fondly by both staff and regular customers, who are all invited to contribute.
“Anyone wishing to write memories of Harry or messages of condolence to his wife Ann is welcome to do so before the book is removed on 7 July,” said family friend Chris Lee.
“Please note that Harry’s Funeral will take place on Wednesday 9 July (not as previously stated Thursday) at 12.15pm at Hastings Crematorium, and all are welcome.”
Symonds was the last of three generations to operate amusements on Hastings seafront, with his father having run Harry’s Old Time Bingo, and his two sons Mark and Harry Jnr taking on roles with Coastal Amusements before they passed away in 2024 and 2012 respectively.
