The Stonemill becomes first Joseph Holt pub to install a shuffleboard

A Warrington pub saved from sale after public outcry is now offering visitors a unique experience with the installation of a shuffleboard.

The Stonemill, owned by Manchester-based brewer Joseph Holt, which operates 127 pubs across the North West, is the first in its portfolio to embrace the shuffleboard, reflecting a rising trend of interactive games in pubs alongside traditional options like darts and pool.

“Shuffleboards are such a lot of fun – they are so fast-moving and energetic,” explained manager Kailey Ashurst. “And they also add to the lively atmosphere in our pub – creating a hub of friendly competition in a lovely, relaxing way.”

The Stonemill gained widespread attention in 2023 when plans for its sale were revealed, and its popularity surged after the owners decided to keep it open. A hub for food, entertainment, and music, the pub boasts an in-house stone-baked pizza oven and hosts cabaret lunch sessions featuring meals, entertainment, and bingo.
