Since launching last year, UDC’s two-player closed-loop pusher Tornado has been doing a storming trade in arcades across the country, and its return to EAG for 2025 saw many visitors “making a beeline” straight for the supplier’s stand. UDC sales director Jonathan Lauder explained the cabinet’s continued appeal, and the new titles expected to enjoy similar success this year.
Coinslot: How did the show go for you this year: did it meet your expectations?
Jonathan Lauder: Indeed, EAG show was a success for UDC and met our expectations. It’s always good to see customers and old friends and we even sold a few games along the way.
It’s gratifying to see customers make the effort to visit EAG. They’re the key component, without them we have no show.
Coinslot: What were the stand highlights – which products caught the attention and what was the reaction to your portfolio of products?
Jonathan Lauder: We showed off a number of new games which I’m sure our customers were impressed by, such as the Bikers Madness, Rush and Catch and the new Wild West II four-player.
I thought our stand looked great, packed with quality equipment.Much attention was focused on Tornado, a game we launched last year that has built an impressive reputation, and is a top performing game across the country.
We received many more orders for Tornado with customers making a beeline to get hands on and ask questions.
Coinslot: It’s going to be a defining year for the business – new legislation and new regulation. How did you gauge the general mood of the industry and what were the main talking points?
Jonathan Lauder: The general mood seems to be good overall, but people feel like they’re working harder to stand still. A big concern is overheads such as energy costs and staffing costs.
Coinslot: Now the show is over, what’s on your agenda going into spring in terms of new products, new projects and more exhibitions?
Jonathan Lauder: Here at UDC we always have something happening on the horizon. The Irish Gaming Show is next on our calendar in March, with the DEAL show in Dubai in April.
We’re going to be working hard over the following weeks to get customer orders out for when they’re needed, some want them right away and some want them just before Easter.
And most importantly, visiting our customers up and down the country.
