Brighton & Hove Albion held a team-building bingo game earlier this month, as part of new head coach Fabian Hurzeler’s efforts to get to know the non-playing members of the club.
Approximately 25 employees, including the entire coaching team, physios, kitmen and chefs enjoyed the social event, which took place ahead of the team’s recent victory over Manchester City.
“We need to have a sense of building a culture where everyone buys in,” Hurzeler told The Argus. “Where everyone is on the same page.”
“I never played bingo before so it was really interesting to play it. I am very competitive. I was close, I missed one number so I was angry with [assistant coach Jonas Scheuermann] that he didn’t mention the number and someone else won. We have to play it again and hopefully then I have a chance to win.”
Despite losing out on a full house to Scheuermann, Hurzeler said: “Jonas organised it and I am very pleased with him, how he organised it. He is a master of bingo, I didn’t know that, so if you need to book him, let me know.”
