Clacton Pier will once again host its popular free Oktoberfest event this weekend, featuring live entertainment, Ein Kleine Oompah Band, games, German food and beer.

For the third year running, the area outside the Boardwalk Bar and Grill will be converted into a Hofbrauhaus with a marquee, long tables and benches.

“Oktoberfest is now a firm favourite on our calendar and it’s time to come along and toast the good times,” said GM Harry Peek. “We are one of the few Oktoberfest’s that offer free entry, you only pay for what you eat and drink.”

“No booking, no fuss, just turn up with family and friends – dress up if you want to – and enjoy a festival that dates back more than 200 years.”

This weekend marks the first Oktoberfest event, with a second on 4 and 5 October.
