The TaxPayer’s Alliance paid its annual visit to Adventure Island on 10 July, with the group making the most of a “well-earned day out” at the Southend attraction.

Executive chair Philip Miller was on hand to welcome the conservative think tank in person, before its members enjoyed the park’s rides and amusements.

“They do important work holding those in positions of power to account and have built a strong reputation for highlighting issues that matter to taxpayers, including their work around the MPs’ expenses scandal,” said Miller.

“Their commitment to transparency and accountability is something that deserves far more recognition. It was fantastic to see them enjoying the rides and having some fun at the park. I have huge respect for the work they do, and it was a privilege to welcome them for a day away from the campaigning and give them the chance to enjoy everything Southend has to offer.”
