Bingo Association pulls in the heavyweights for its AGM

The Bingo Association hosted its 2025 AGM at the Hallam Conference Centre in London last week, with the event attended by delegates from across the country, as well as gambling minister Baroness Twycross and the Gambling Commission’s Tim Miller.

While Twycross visited the event to “reaffirm her understanding” of the sector, it was Miller who went furthest in praising the work that the BA has done so far in consulting on policy, advocating for its members, and engaging meaningfully with the regulator.

Now Coinslot, later in this edition, does delve deeper into the sterner side of Miller’s message – it’s well-known that he holds the industry in contempt as signalled in redacted documents in Commission archives. However, even he had to concede to the BA’s professional posture.

“The approach taken by the Bingo Association in recent times has been exactly what we need when it comes to the issues that matter,” said Miller.

“The engagement we’ve had through the Bingo Association on many issues has been positive, practical and constructive. It’s this commitment to collaborative working that we want to see and are so pleased to have established.”

The association thanked Miller for his “thoughtful insights on collaboration,” as well as Baroness Twycross, who “took time in her busy schedule to speak directly with delegates and reaffirm her understanding of the bingo sector’s unique place, and the role it plays in communities across the UK.”

Other speakers at the AGM included EY’s head of tax policy Christopher Sanger, and Oliver Wright, from data, market research and advisory company Savanta.
