Blackpool has been named one of Europe’s most affordable summer holiday destinations for 2026, according to new research comparing the cost of accommodation, attractions and travel.
The study, carried out by credit card provider Aqua, ranked the Lancashire seaside resort ninth among the cheapest destinations across the UK and Europe.
Albania topped the list overall, followed by Prague, Porto, Madrid, Lisbon, the Costa del Sol, Budapest, Tenerife and Blackpool, with Lanzarote completing the top 10.
Blackpool was the only UK destination to feature in the rankings. Researchers found it offered the lowest average prices for local attractions at £31, while average fuel costs were £35.
The report comes as many households continue to reassess their holiday budgets, with Aqua finding that 47 per cent of Britons planning to travel in 2026 expect to reduce their spending because of rising flight costs.
The study also compared UK staycation destinations, with London ranked as the most expensive because of higher accommodation costs. Brighton and Falmouth followed as the second and third most expensive UK destinations included in the research
